Government Schemes Calculators
PPF, NPS, SSY and other Indian government scheme calculators.
The Government Schemes calculators cover small-savings schemes such as PPF, SSY, NSC and SCSS, pension schemes such as NPS, EPS and Atal Pension Yojana, EPF, central government pay components, and eligibility checks for welfare schemes.
Scheme rates and rules are set by the government and can change — small-savings rates are reviewed every quarter. Confirm the rate or rule a calculator uses with the official source before making a decision.

Fixed-rate schemes versus market-linked schemes
PPF, SSY, NSC and SCSS pay a rate announced by the government for each period, so their projections change only when that rate changes. NPS returns depend on markets, so its calculator uses the return you choose to assume. Compare the two kinds with that difference in mind.
A projection assumes today's rate lasts
A projection that uses this quarter's rate assumes the rate stays the same for years. That is a planning convenience, not a promise. Where a calculator shows the period its rate applies to, check that the period is still current.
How these calculators work
Savings-scheme calculators apply the scheme's compounding or payout rule to the rate stated on the page. Pension and eligibility tools use the official charts or criteria each page names.
Limitations
- Rates and eligibility rules change; a calculator is only as current as the rate it uses.
- Eligibility checkers indicate likely eligibility only; the implementing agency decides.
- Tax treatment is described only where a page states it, under the rules current at review.

PPF vs NSC vs KVP: Comparing India's Popular Small Savings Schemes
These three government-backed schemes aren't really substitutes for each other — PPF is a 15-year annual-contribution scheme with tax-free (EEE) returns, NSC is a 5-year lump-sum scheme with a Section 80C deduction but taxable interest, and KVP is a lump-sum scheme with no fixed tenure requirement or tax benefit at all — so the "best" one depends on your time horizon and tax situation, not just which has the highest headline rate.

EPF is mandatory and employer-matched with a government-set 8.25% rate, NPS is voluntary and market-linked with the highest long-run growth potential but a locked-in annuity requirement, and PPF is voluntary and fully guaranteed with tax-free (EEE) returns — they solve different problems, so most salaried savers end up using more than one rather than picking just one.

Running an identical ₹1,50,000 through the real SCSS and SSY formulas side by side to show why their maturity amounts diverge so sharply — and why that gap reflects different purposes, not one scheme beating the other.

Ayushman Bharat eligibility is primarily based on SECC-2011 deprivation-category status, not income directly — plus a 2024 expansion that covers every citizen aged 70 or older regardless of income or SECC status — so two people with identical incomes can have different eligibility outcomes depending on their SECC household classification.

The same ₹9,00,000, put into POMIS versus POTD, earns noticeably different total interest over 5 years — because POMIS pays income out monthly without compounding, while POTD reinvests every quarter's interest until maturity.

Retirement gratuity is a quarter of last-drawn basic pay plus DA for each completed six-month block of service, capped at 16.5 times that figure or a statutory ceiling — whichever comes first.
